“Giuliani’s Got Balls”

I’ve mentioned ObamaGirl and Hott4Hill, so in the interests of political fairness, here’s the “Rudy Giuliani-Real Balls ” ad.  It features a New Yorker driving through the city talking about how tough Giuliani is.  On crime.  On terrorists.  On immigrants.  All while taking Rudy’s macho posturing well beyond satire (and making a point of blaming Giuliani’s prostate cancer on a Haitian “voodoo curse”).  Somehow, though, they forgot to mention Rudy’s taste for wearing drag.

The video does point to Rudy’s official website at the end, which throws an interesting twist into things and there’s a related “Rudy Giuliani-Not a Mormon” ad that’s part of the same series (found via Brian and Wonkette).

Chuck, I did some sleuthing on MySpace and there’s some woman there
who’s been pushing the clip on some of the conservative MS groups. Turns out that she got it posted on the comments section of the Official Giuliani page. Not only did they let the post stay up there (they have to approve html code for their comments section), but they even sent her a comment back that they loved it!! So whether it was official before or not, it is now! Check it out.

Of course, it still doesn’t answer the question of who really put it up there, but that kind of doesn’t matter.

    right on, Phil

Phil, that’s really interesting about Giulinai’s MySpace page picking up the video. That does make it, in some sense, “official,” though RG could clearly distance himself from it later.

I do think the issue of authorship could matter eventually. I’d compare “Giuliani’s Got Balls” to “Vote Different/Hillary 1984.” When we learned that someone working for an organization affiliated with Obama, it did change (and, perhaps, limit) possible interpretations of the video.

But my guess is that this video could “inspire” a number of interesting imitations and knock offs, which itself would be interesting.
