“Getting Paid is the Name of the Game”

The Writers Guild strike, Daily Show style.  Via Oliver Willis.

In other news, one of my two proposals was accepted to the Society for Cinema and Media Studies conference in Philly, so hopefully I’ll be seeing many (or at least some) of my readers at the conference in March.  My paper will be focusing on some of the implications of digital distribution for independent films.  Should be a lot of fun.

I doubt I’ll be able to make the conference, although I’m really tempted, especially since Film Studies is one of my key support areas. But maybe there’ll be a blogger drinking spree at some point. :)

It’s a cool conference. I’d imagine that a few of us bloggers will find ways to cross paths at some point. Guess it’s also about time to start gearing up for MLA.

Look forward to seeing you in Philly again. And given that your conference paper sounds like part of your book project, I’m especially eager to hear.

Cool, it’ll be great catching up. Hopefully the paper will be good–I’ll definitely be drawing from the book.
