Fayetteville Arts Events 1/5-1/11

In the spirit of trying to get more involved in the community this year, I just wanted to mention a couple of upcoming events involving the Fayetteville Museum of Art. The first is a Museum Miles 5K run/walk on Sunday, January 5, to benefit the museum building project. If things warm up a bit, I might try to run. I’m way off my training regimen, but I could still finish a 5K (3.1 miles) relatively easily. It’s supposed to get back up to about 60 degrees on Sunday, so we’ll see how things go.

On Friday, January 11, from 6-8 PM, there will be a premiere party for a new exhibit, “Unbinding Beauty,” featuring the work of artists Erica Stankwytch Bailey, Denise Baker, Wanrudee Buranakorn, and Emily Mills Reed. The very cool Chapel Hill indie band, the prayers and tears of arthur digby sellers, will perform at the premiere.

Update: Here’s a little more info on the Museum Miles 5K.  Some members of the Fayetteville Runners Meetup group are planning to run, so I might participate, too.
