On the Road Again

So, since everyone else is doing it, I thought I’d do the “States I’ve Visited” map. Like most other people, I’ve avoided including states where I’ve only had a layover in the airport. More confusing are those states I don’t really remember visiting because I was a toddler, but if I know from photographs or anecdotes that I’ve been there, I decided to include those states, too.

create your own personalized map of the USA
or write about it on the open travel guide

I’m not sure how I missed West Virginia (I know I’ve driven through the corner of the state, but that’s about it), but I’ve done my share of traveling east of the Mississippi.

And where do you want to go now?

In the US, Portland and Seattle would be my top choices. I am looking forward to going to Boston next week (that’s one of the places I visited as a baby, so I don’t really remember it).

In the rest of the world, pretty much anywhere, especially in Europe. I skipped the countries map because outside the US I’ve only been to England, France, Canada, and Mexico. I still haven’t been to Montreal. Tokyo’d be pretty cool, too…

Oh, I just looked back at your entry and I forgot: I’d like to see Moscow and Cuba, too.

I have visited about 26 Рnot bad considering I am a canadian…but what would be more interesting to me is if people were to do this Рbased on the blogs that they read Рboth by US states and globally…..would give us some useful information about reading the blogosphere.

That would be cool…What would make it more interesting IMO is if we could map not only states, but also by “intensity.” For example, because I live in Atlanta, I read 8-10 blogs from here in Georgia (to keep up with local politics, etc). Would be interesting to see the degree to which certain academic bloggers’ viewing maps coincide, though.
