Personal Jesus

I’ve just learned that filmmaker and blogger Brian Flemming’s God Who Wasn’t There will be playing at this week’s Atlanta Film Festival at the Eastside Lounge on June 15th. I’m hoping to attend, and if any other Hotlanta readers are interested, do let me know. While you’re in the neighborhood, check out Doug Monroe’s Creative Loafing review.

I’ve been so caught up in moving stuff and work stuff (Mind Numbing Freelance job) that I haven’t had a chance to look at this year’s film schedule. Any suggestions for can’t miss films? The four screenings I attended last year were all very satisfying.

Update: God isn’t a part of the Atlanta Film Festival, but I’m still eager to see it.

That’s been on my calendar for a while. The only catch is that it’s playing pretty late.

Chris, if you definitely decide to attend let me know, and maybe we could meet up. I’m certainly not averse to a late night film, so that’s probably even an incentive for me.

Well it would be nice to see with a group, so I suppose I will attend. I’m not sure why they scheduled it for Wed night at 10 p.m. though. It seems like they don’t want people to attend. According to one source, though, it’s only 62 minutes long, so maybe that’s why.

10 PM is pretty late, although CL has it starting at 9 PM (either way, I’ll certainly attend). Maybe the late start is to get people drunk before they see the film?

But, yeah, if I have to work on Thursday, I’ll probably be dragging a little.
